There is a skills shortage of quantity surveyors with expertise in mechanical and electrical installations in the UK. Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Salford University MSc Quantity Surveying (Mechanical and Electrical) postgraduate degree is one I’m proud to champion and I’m delighted to be providing some lecturing for their students.
The MSc level Mechanical Electrical Quantity Surveying module is one I rate highly, and appreciate at first hand how these skills translate into the work place across many different sectors. For the students I’ve been working with I’m encouraged by their interest and knowledge of the subjects we have been exploring. For anyone with A Level studying aged children I would definitely recommend considering a study path such as this if there is interest in how things work, the built environment coupled with a natural curiosity and good critical thinking.
