This High Street regeneration project is all about saving buildings and restoration, and is perfectly scalable for many other cities and towns.
True, it’s in a historic conservation area which obviously adds to the appeal and motivation, however with approximately 5000 High Streets in the UK there will be plenty of buildings which are well worth saving, even if they don’t quite have that cache attached.
Since the pandemic and re evaluating how important our local areas, amenities and shops are for communities, the time is surely right for further grants, projects and breathing new life into buildings as we are all out and about once more.
